This is an easy-to-find travel bug motel conveniently located just off Interstate 40 in North Carolina, at exit 105. It is much larger than an apple but much smaller than a shoe box. STEALTH IS NEEDED TO PRESERVE THE HIDE; AND PLEASE REPLACE AS FOUND, OR BETTER! [Sorry, but there is poison ivy in season and litter during all seasons. Read the entire description for more information.]
This actually is not a new hide, rather a relocation (due to extensive construction going on near its current GZ) back across the intersection to its original location from whence it was moved a couple of years ago (due to extensive construction then going on near that location). It seemed simpler to archive and relist than to jump through hoops to move the GZ some 1500 feet. That does give this cache a new number and makes a second find possible, but be aware that there are/may be names already on the log in the cache.
The container is a duct-taped plastic jar meant primarily for exchange of geocoins and travel bugs; however, there is room for small items and I try to keep a few in the cache.
It is possible to do this cache after dark, but you'll need to take care and to use a small light to avoid/negotiate obstacles and to open the container and sign the log.
Businesses near the interstate at this exit include numerous gas stations, motels, restaurants, and other food outlets.
