This is the first of hopefully a series of caches around interesting but less well known parts of this pretty Sussex village. The cache is enclosed in a natural looking feature that should be easily found using the hint.
PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PRIVATE ROAD. THERE IS A LAYBY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ROAD. WALKING ACCESS IS ALLOWED TOWARDS THE FOOTPATH.
The path you will walk down follows the route of an old stream. It now runs underground in a culvert which you might hear if you stand quietly. It fed a pond at the bottom of the road beyond the path until it started to dry out in the 1920s. Older members of the village remembered it becoming very smelly and unpleasant but had originally been the place where horses and cattle stopped to drink.
