Townsend, WI, is located in the heart of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest area. Recently, a severe thunderstorm did a lot of damage to the area, closing off ATV trails and nature areas for the remainder of the summer. As a result, a couple of COs with hides in those areas felt it best to either temporarily or permanently archive those caches. I placed this in a more accessible, and hopefully storm-resistant, place for those geocachers who might be in the area for a variety of other outdoor activities and find cache locations temporarily closed off. Once those areas are back in business, this remains a hunting-safe cache to find.
