No matter which season it is, walking in the Maple Garden is a visual enjoyment! Located next to Taiwan Boulevard in Taichung City, Maple Garden is a unique U-shaped recreational greenland for the city residents.
One could say that the Mapple Garden was a "beautiful mistake" since the location was originally designed for the Taichung International Convention & Exhibition Center.However,the BOT contract was canceled after the foundation was laid.That's when the idea for turning the area into a park was born.
After checking out similar projects undertaken overseas,architect Chia-Kai Yang coordinated the transformation of the land using soil from Tail River to backfill it. Eventually,the park was finished,complete with an artificial lake,grass-covered slopes,and a bridge.It is a great place for talking a walk, going on a date. During the day, there is comforting greenness, and at night, it is filled with sleepless lighting.
秋紅谷的誕生,可以說是一個失敗的BOT案而留下美麗的錯誤,因這裡原本被規劃為台中國際會展中心,但在地基開挖後卻因故終止了BOT案,於是台中市府改將此規劃為人工湖景觀公園。
