Shark Week Reject Series
Welcome to the Shark Week Reject Series. I recently placed a bunch of caches around Folsom Lake to acknowledge the vast number of sharks out there and impart some knowledge about those sharks. I hid a lot more caches than got published. These hides were rejected for various reasons. Most of the rejected hides turned out to be a little too far from the posted coordinates in the geo-art. Some were just placed as extras in case some of the hides were blocked by puzzles I had not solved yet. Some were named for sharks or shark related ideas that just didn’t make the cut.
These caches will be other styles besides puzzles. We are starting with a few on the pennisula in case cachers wanted to grab more than just the few Shark Week caches over there.
Sharknado
Sharknado is a 2013 American made-for-television sci-fi disaster film about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and deposits them in Los Angeles. It is the first installment in the Sharknado film series. It first aired on the Syfy channel on July 11, 2013, and stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, John Heard and Cassie Scerbo. The over-the-top premise and theatrics of the film quickly earned it a cult following.
Five sequels were produced: Sharknado 2: The Second One, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, Sharknado: The 4th Awakens and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. The Last Sharknado: It's About Time, the sixth and final film in the franchise, was released on August 19, 2018. Though the original film was not explicitly a comedy, maintaining at least a facade of seriousness despite the implausible plot, the sequels were more openly comedic in nature.
My personal opinion was that while Sharknado was not very plausible, it was highly entertaining. The entertainment factor faded with each successive film to the point that Sharknado 6 was unwatchable.
