So you want to be a tree planter?
Good money you say,
Well that may be a fact, if in fact you stay.
The sun is up about 5 and you are finishing breakfast
You fill your bags with trees; sleet is the forecast.
Today is rugged terrain, super steep to the back line
About a 1000 feet but you’ll make it just fine.
Clambering up the steep slope you bend over to plant
Already the rain is dribbling down your back and into your pants.
You can’t keep the mosquitoes off – there are black flies in your eyes,
Where does the next tree go – no time to agonize.
Bend over thousands of times – reload once again
Lugging your heavy load – watch out for a sprain
Clambering over massive logs with your load of trees
Another day of exhaustion – you are the one who plants trees!
