While out on our morning hike, 17blonde andronn and I had gone up the "Seas" trail from French Beach and cut over West at "Seas the Day" to come down the Iron Maiden trail. We decided to do a detour into the Priest's Cabin, and were sure glad we did. We met up with a couple of CRD workers who were cleaning up the usual trail in from Cedar Coast Drive, but they also told us that they'd just finished brushing out a new connector trail back down to the yellow gate, making for a much more interesting walk than along the old gravel road. We thought it such a nice trail that we just had to drop some caches along it, to entice others to discover it. You can also connect over to the Seas trail above French Beach (via a few power line caches we also dropped) to do the giant loop like we did.
The CRD guys were quite happy to hear that we planned to celebrate their new trail by adding it to the OSM map and bringing cachers up to it. As a twist of Fate, one of them even turned out to be a close neighbour of 17blonde and andronn.
This is the westernmost of our powerline connector caches, linking the Priest Cabin trail with the Seas series above French Beach via the Iron Maiden trail.
