This cache is placed beside a road but it is not busy; I would recommend that you walk through the grounds as the walk is very pleasant, albeit slightly hilly. Do not try and drive here please and bring a pen with you as the logbook needs to be signed for you to earn a smiley.
The village of Cockington was privately owned until 1932, when it was sold to the Torquay Corporation. There are some beautiful buildings many of which are thatched and the old forge is still in place, albeit as a souvenir shop. The photo below is the Forge from 1900.

There is also a cricket club here: Cockington Corinthians, who were formed in 1933 and started playing here in 1947. There is a lovely little pavilion which has only been in place for about ten years, as it replaced the previous one that burnt down.
There are plenty of other caches in the area and a few series that can be completed as part of a circular walk, why not explore the area and surrounding woodland ☺
