La Leggenda:

Durante le veglie invernali i contadini narravano la leggenda del soldato lanzichenecco Kurt Waiser, italianizzato in Cortoviso. Nel 1400 egli capitò per motivi guerreschi in queste contrade e si innamorò di una giovane castellana chiamata Isabella o Marianna. Successe che per una immotivata gelosia nei confronti della donzella, lui la uccise e provò un dolore così grande provocato dal tremendo senso di colpa che il suo spirito è condannato a vagare per l' eternità nei luoghi dove visse il suo amore e dove morì, drammaticamente.

Il fantasma di Cortoviso si aggirerebbe confuso tra le ombre della notte nei pressi della torre, c'è chi sostiene invece di averlo veduto con Isabella teneramente abbracciato e altre volte i due che tentano invano di raggiungersi senza mai riuscirci.

During the winter vigils, the peasants told the legend of the Landsknecht soldier Kurt Waiser, Italianized in Cortoviso. Descrizione:

Massiccia fortificazione medievale a base quadrata con basamento di origine longobarda, alta all' incirca 17 metri, venne costruita utilizzando principalmente arenaria e ciottoli di fiume. Anche qualche mattone fu utile alla realizzazione dell' edificio, soprattutto per la costruzione dei beccatelli, di cui oggi se ne possono ammirare a malapena i contorni.

Si trova nei pressi della frazione di Ca' Mazzasette, piccolo nucleo abitativo che conta poco meno di un centinaio di abitanti e che ha impresso profondamente nella memoria il ricordo della violenza nazifascista.

Circondata da campi coltivati, svetta solitaria e maestosa sulla sua collina da più di ottocento anni.

Tra il 1300 ed il 1500, era probabilmente parte di un piccolo castello di cui oggi non resta traccia, ma che doveva ospitare una piccola guarnigione militare con il compito di segnalare agli altri fortilizi della zona, tramite l' utilizzo di fuochi e specchi, l' eventuale ingresso del nemico nella vallata.

Testimone e a volte protagonista dello scontro tra Montefeltro e Malatesta, si dice che vi trovarono alloggio anche Francesco Sforza e le sue truppe.

Description:

A massive medieval square-based fortification with a base of Lombard origin, about 17 meters high, it was built using mainly sandstone and river pebbles. Even some bricks were useful for the construction of the building, above all for the construction of the corbels, of which today the contours can hardly be admired.

It is located near the hamlet of Ca' Mazzasette, a small inhabited nucleus that has just under a hundred inhabitants and that has deeply impressed the memory of Nazi-fascist violence in the memory.

Surrounded by cultivated fields, it has stood solitary and majestic on its hill for over eight hundred years.

Between the 1300s and 1500s, it was probably part of a small castle of which today no trace remains, but which was to house a small military garrison with the task of signaling to the other fortresses of the area, through the use of fires and mirrors, the eventual entry of the enemy in the valley.

Witness and sometimes protagonist of the clash between the houses of Montefeltro and Malatesta, it is said that Francesco Sforza and his troops were also housed there.
