What Is And What Once Was Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

NCreviewer: This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner should check on this cache at their earliest convenience and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines.

I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in 30 days to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.

Whatever your intentions, please post a note here on the cache page to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. Do not merely email/message me directly. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.

If you do not plan to maintain this cache you can archive it yourself.

Geocache Description:

I always think it's neat to see places that were obviously once full of human life after they've been abandoned. This place is about as barren as they come. Whatever buildings once stood here are long gone. Whoever used to work or live here probably hasn't come back here in a long time. I don't know what this place was, but I imagine some of the older cachers in this area may have some insight. Hopefully we'll get a history lesson in the logs. At the very least, enjoy a fun hunt.

If you're a cacher from Western NC, and are interested in keeping up with what other local cachers are doing, asking for help on a particularly tough cache, finding out about upcoming events, or generally having discussions about geocaching, please search and join the group "NC Foothills Area Geocachers" on Facebook. If you have trouble finding it, message me on here and I'll send you a link.
