Greatland Reviewer: Hello Zurif:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If you would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

This cache was originally placed at the coordinates of the Waypoint provided. Unfortnately, it was muggled a while back, much to our annoyance due to the work we put into creating the cache.  We are now enabling it again, and we hid the new cache nearby, but it's significanlly harder to reach. Hopefully, this will keep it safe!

Please excercize CAUTION while attempting to reach this cache.  Be confident in your abilities, and do not attempt when muddy and slippery or after a heavy rain.  Approaching this cache may be dangrous unless you attempt it from the Waypoint coordinates, which provide the most obvious and safe route to access the cache.

Parking is easiest in designated parking areas on the road boardering the park. The cache is located near Makiki Stream, which has water flowing year round. The stream comes down from Makiki Valley, through the Nature Center, where other caches are hidden. BYOP.

Please note, this is not a simple PNG -- you will need to exercize some basic problem solving skills to obtain the cache container. The following are some requests and recommendations for finding this cache:

       -   It is possible to find with one person, but would be much easier to solve with two people.

       -   The area can be very wet, so please close the container tightly and make sure it is dry when you are finished to prevent the log from getting wet. Please replace everything exactly the way you found it, for the enjoyment of the next Geocacher.

       -   This area can be quite hot and humid -- I suggest bringing a bottle of drinking water as there are no water fountains nearby, as well as some mosquito repellant.

Congratulations to Janomi and K-C-S for the FTF! We’ll give Skotlee an honorable mention 😉.

We have one request regarding this cache.  The area, unfortunately, has quitea a bit of litter.  You’ll see that children have placed signs asking people to clean the stream, take care of the Aina, etc. If you have time, please remove one piece of trash, when you are here searching for the cache, and help by throwing it away. There is a garbage can very close by in the dog park, easy walking distance.  Thank you for your kokua!
