With most of the Waitakere Ranges closed because of Kauri Die Back, it has become a little difficult to find somewhere to go for a walk or hike.
This is one area that is still open though, although there are no round trip options anymore via the tracks in the Waitakeres.
To find the entrance to the track, look for a faded marker post a little after the lake, or follow the majority of footprints across the beach.
