Welcome to Carleton village.
Carleton village sits around 100m above sea level. On a clear day, this makes it a fantastic view point for the Isle of Man.
This cache is placed at the Northerly end of the village and close to the Haile to Egremont public footpath. If you were to head down the single track lane to the South of the village (passing the working dairy farm), you will arrive at The Park Head pub. In the summer, there are plenty of gardens to admire and wild ornamental poppies are prolific along the stone walls.
If you head East along the footpath just past the cache, you'll ultimately end up at Haile church. You could easily turn this into a loop in which case you'll pass a number of other geocaches placed by us.
Please note that the single track lane can often get busy with farm activity including tractors and livestock. This means it is not a grab and dash location.
You do not need to enter anyone's private property or courtyard. The courtyard closest to the cache is private property. The cache has been placed on the gate post to this property with permission of the owners. It is a black magnetic nano cache and can be found from the road.
Enjoy the search and the village!
