This is a chirp wireless beacon cache. You must have a device compatible with the Garmin Chirp Wireless Beacon to do this cache. It is a 2-stage cache to test my first chirp placement in the area and should be a quick find with a short walk.
This chirp wireless beacon cache is located in a shopping center with parking is found close to the chirper.
It is a simple 2-stage cache with the first being the chirp placed near parking area. You should not need to leave the paved area to pick up the signal. Once near GZ users searching for the chirp must enable chirp searching on their GPS, and when you get within range for about 10 seconds the chirp data is automatically downloaded to the GPS.
When you view the chirp you see the name, message and coordinates. You can then “Go” to the chirp (similar to a waypoint) and this will begin navigation to the programmed coordinates. The chirp coordinates are saved as a special waypoint but the message is not preserved in this waypoint.
Good reviews and descriptions of a chirp beacon type cache can be readily found online.
