This cache is on Stevens Creek Trail - please do not attempt to access it from Rt 85. See waypoints for two possible parking locations to navigate to.
Stevens Creek Trail currently runs from the Dale/Heatherstone Ave entrance with the Rt 85 overpass all the way to the Bay. There is also a separate section further south in Cupertino.
The section the cache is on was only opened in 2012, three years after the extension from El Camino to Sleeper Ave. Many people, including myself, use the trail for commuting on a daily basis, and it's hard to imagine it not being there. There are some plans to extend the trail further south, to Mountain View High School and possibly to Fremont Ave, but the project is not currently funded.
This cache is in the same place as the Treeceratops cache, which was recently archived. In fact, I found the container of the old cache at the location. I left it there since it is an interesting object. The new cache is a log-only micro and is not in or on the old container.
