Geocache Description:


Church Micro IE 290 Barr Parish Church, Moneyglass Road, County Tyrone.

Built in 1843, Barr Parish Church was onsecrated on 27th June 1883.  This beautifully charming church is roughly half way on the road between Tempo and Fintona (B80), at the crossroads junction of Moneygar Rd and Corrashesk Rd, townland of Carryglass. Barr Parish Church is in the Diocese of Clogher.

The church land is small and there is no graveyard. The church steeple has a bell which has tainted green over the years.

The first record of marriage at Barr Parish Church took place between William Stewart (Knocknacarin) and Mary Wilson (Tattymoile), witnessed by Mr J Barnett and Mr J Cowan.

Small magnetoc container with a pull top lid. Contains small pen and log. Please ensure you replace the cap nice and snug, and return to the original location.

HELPFUL
There's a small layby right beside the church, please makke sure you apply the handbrake to your vehicle as the road is quite steep.

SAFETY
Narrow country road but there is parking right at the cache, please do not block gates or field entry points and be vigilant for traffic (few and far between).
