A boy or girl can join Cub Scouts for the first time when they are entering Kindergarten, at which time they become Lion Scouts (roaring encouraged to celebrate finding this cache).
To earn their Lion Award, there are five adventures that must be completed that include such learning what to do in an emergency, doing a project to help someone, participating in a field day, and going for a hike. They also have to complete at least one choice adventure that can include inventing a useful object from household materials, running an obstacle course, or planting a garden plant.
