WAHDA or Acer saccharum, common name Sugar Maple. The was designated the state tree of New York in 1956 (the sugar maple is also the state tree of Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia).. The Sugar Maple is a landscape standout. Medium to dark-green leaves turn yellow, burnt orange or red in fall.
