The Geocache is NOT part of the electrical system. You do not need to take anything apart to access the cache. If you struggle, please message me and I will help you out.
St Paul Lutheran Church in Harrison Township (Rural Boone, Iowa) is very friendly for geocaches. The clergyman here is a geocacher and several members from the congregation enjoy the hobby as well. There are a total of four geocaches on this property and you are welcome to search for all of them.
The church’s previous sign stood for about 15 years. It was donated in loving memory of Rev Laine Mathiason, a son of the congregation who died from cancer at a young age. In 2016, a straight line wind blew over that sign. Although it was brick, there was no rebar to attach it to the cement base. Amazingly, even while the sign was broken and lying on the ground, it remained lit.
In 2017, this new sign was constructed and properly anchored in the ground.
Please do not cache during services. Please respect the nearby cemetery and any mourners. There is a family near this cache’s ground zero, so please respect them and only cache during daylight hours.
