This series is dedicated to geocaching spots that once had caches, but saw them go away. Sometimes the CO left the game, sometimes the cache was muggled and sometimes we don't know why it went away. However, if the spot was worthy of a cache, I am going to try and bring you back, or maybe bring you here for the first time.
Every year on 9/11, I try and find a cache near a 9/11 memorial or some other item related to 9/11. It's just my own little way to try and remember and pay respect to those who were lost on that tragic day. This year I happened to come across this archived cache on my list of found caches and decided that I would hide a new one to bring people back to this touching memorial.
The hide is nothing spectacular, but as with a number of my hides the actual purpose is to bring you near something worth seeing. I cannot believe it has been 18 years since that terrible day, but we should all remember forever that all gave some and some gave all.
