Geocache Description:

McKinlay is a small town in Western Queensland.

Best known for the Walkabout Creek Hotel McKinlay was surveyed 1888. It was the seat of the McKinlay shire until the chambers moved to Julia Creek in 1930. Without a railroad McKinlay was declining, the population at the 2016 census was 178, down from 417 just 5 years earlier.

The servo is boarded up since some time 2018, but a mobile tower has been installed, not everybody liked that as they felt it would take away the country feel of going to the pub to actually talk to the other patrons.

McKinlay used to have a cache, think that it is about time to put it back on the geocaching map.

The container is the size of a lunch box.
