METCALF MEMORIAL CHURCH
This Church is situated in the Historical area of Tea Tree Gully township, and is one of the most prominent stone buildings..
Early Baptist held services in private homes until the original church was built in 1863.
As the congregation grew so did the need for a larger Church and this new Church was named "Metcalf Memorial Church" after Reverand F.Metcalf Minister in charge of the original Church.
His daughter Mrs H Fisher laid the foundation stones with Sir Charles Goode.
Construction of the new Church commenced in 1913 and was completed the following year.
The older Chapel became the Sunday School.
Today the church is now connected to a newer building at the rear where current Church services are held by the Torrens Valley Christian Centre.
Services are held each Sunday.
