3rd Newport Scouts have been working hard for their Geocaching badges.
They have learnt about map reading, Ordnance Survey and latitude / longitude coordinates.
GPS systems and how they work (and what can stop it working).
They have been out on planned walks, finding Geocaches along the way.
So after getting to grips with the Geocaching guidelines, and all passing the quiz, the final step is to place their own cache.
This is a simple multi cache with some simple maths to get you from point to point to the final cache.
A pencil and pad will come in handy for the sums.
Start by looking at the Scout Hall, in one corner of the car park,
This will be a quick easy find so you dont need to look too hard.
Above the door, is the scouts sign - grab the phone number to help you on your way to the first waypoint
Once you find it use the letters / number to work out the next stop

From there turn around and head to the next waypoint...

You are looking for a cache container made by one of the Scouts.
It is made from air-dry clay and then painted, it blends into its surroundings well.
