This cache brings you to 'The Hub' which is at the centre of Whareroa Farm. This area can be busy at times as many walking and biking tracks converge at this point. There are picnic benches here as well as eco-friendly toilets and a 1951 dunny which has been moved from it's site in the Tararuas.
The focal point of the area is a beautifully painted caravan which has been moved from it's original site on Kapiti Island. It was taken to Whareroa Farm in 2015 and was lovingly restored by volunteers before being placed here. The stunning artwork was added by local artist Julie Oliver in 2018.
You are looking for a small systema container hidden at ground level. This contains a tool and a pen, and once you have these in hand you will hopefully understand the process required to locate and sign the logbook. You will see a hint written on the underside of the lid to assist you in your search.
The logbook is inside an extremely large cache container which we believe is one of the largest in New Zealand.
Please take a few extra moments to replace the container carefully and please refrain from mentioning the process required to locate the logbook in your online log.
Many thanks to the Whareroa Guardians for their kind permission for us to place this cache.
