Welcome to the Cedell Brooks, Jr. Park!
Formerly known as Shiloh Park, in 2017 its name was changed. This area was once a landfill! Now it offers a playground with a mini library, soccer fields, a baseball field, a trail, and a natural observation deck!
At the age of 28, Cedell Brooks Jr. became a King George Supervisor. He was the youngest black American elected to any Virginia county at the time. He won against the 8 year incumbent, Sidney Peterson. Brooks served for 26 years, the longest of any continuously serving official in the county. During his service, he campaigned for this very park, and that is why it bears his name.
The geocache placed here is in a small container.
