There is no more compelling cinematic character than Joseph "Blue" Pulaski from Old School. With a performance that was controversially ignored by the Oscars, the late great Patrick Cranshaw's portrayal of the feisty yet lovable Blue was flawless. From the moment he was shown on screen, Blue instantly became America's Grandad.
Blue had a way of making you believe that no matter the obstacle, you can persevere. Whether it was his tragic kidnapping from a bus stop or his bravery in the face of potentially disfiguring torture with a cinderblock and rope or his restraint while suffering public humiliation when trying to serve those around him at a pool party, Blue warmed your heart as he made you cry. Even after his tragic passing from a sick underground fight club attack, you somehow knew that the absence of Blue would have an impact after his death.
I guess Blue was kinda like Yoda except he was a lot younger, he wasn't an alien and there was no stupid and unnecessary explanation of The Force using midichlorian counts. He also wasn't green. But he was Blue. I mean, he wasn't physically blue, but his name was Blue. Either way, Blue is a historic character that will be echoed throughout the public consciousness forever. To put it simply,
