This Clare Road Cache was placed to celebrate my 50th find. Chosen by our family because my son went on his first ever school excursion. He went out with his class on the bus and helped plant the roadside vegetation as part of Trees for Towns. Every time we drive past this spot he reminds us of the significance of it to him. Now, I join him by making this place special for me too! We love the stonework of the stonemasons of the past and we will continue to highlight the great work of days gone by adding to this series.
Make sure you are sure footed, long pants recommended (briars and wild olives) and have enclosed shoes for this one.
Parking in the area is tricky. Best parking is on the old road at the corner of Clare Road and School Road and entering from the east. The cache can be accessed from the western side but parking along here is not the safest due to the traffic and lack of roadside space. This is not a drive by cache as guard rail runs along the edge of the road.
