This little cutting located next to Bethel Road was created as a result of taking the lumps, bumps and curves out of the roads to make travelling for all traffic quicker and safer for our modern, faster vehicles. Located on the southern side of the range the area is known for what the kids call 'blue chalk rock'. Hence the name chosen: Blue Cutting. This cutting has a 2WD track so you can follow the track off Bethel Road in your car safely and park to access the cache. Take a moment to look across towards the Barossa Valley. It's a nice spot.
Sometimes this area has muggles out riding their motorbikes, so don't be surprised to meet one or two, particularly on weekends! You can find them with trailers, picnics and even BBQ's going.
