Geocache Description:

Since this cache is at the SWA Greenway, I am sharing a little information from the Solid Waste Authority and the greenway.  The Solid Waste Authority (SWA) of Palm Beach County was formed by the Florida Legislature in 1975 to manage the disposal of the county resident's growing solid waste and other disposal issues.

The Solid Waste Authority set aside 300 acres of natural area during the development of the SWA landfill and waste-to-energy facility to serve as a conservation area. Tucked away in the SWA conservation area is a large rookery that harbors thousands of native birds, including two endangered species, the Snail Kite and the Wood Stork. The wetlands act to filter water as it travels through Palm Beach Renewable Energy Park and out into the larger watershed of the Florida Everglades. The boardwalks and benches are made from recycled plastic lumber and the trail paths are made from recycled crushed concrete.

I hope you enjoy your time on the greenway trails, thanks for reading!

Cache is a preform, located just north of the trail about head high.
