The First Church of Chiang Mai

History
The reverend Daniel McGilvary, and American missionary from the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. founded The First Church of Chiang Mai on April 19, 1868. His main purposes in establishing the new congregation were to proclaim the “Good News” witness to Jesus Christ, and to liberate God’s people from ignorance and illness through ministries of education, healing, and service. The First Church of Chiang Mai still continues faithfully to serve these purposes in performing its current mission and ministries
Today the First Church of Chiang Mai concentrates on equipping all its members for the work of ministry by strengthening their faith and increasing their knowledge of God and their unity in Christ. Our ministry is focused on serving God through serving His people, our neighbors. We seek to minister especially to those who are poor, sick, disabled, old, homeless, and to those exploited and victimized by political disasters, who now cry out and long for live, justice, peace and salvation
