In 1886 Dr. A.M. Carey upgraded the dispensary into a hospital. In 1890 Dr. James W. In 1916 Dr. Edwin C. Cort established a medicine school and the hospital prepared to move to a new location in Nong Seng with financial assistance from Mrs. Cyrus McCormick a wealthy American. The construction of the new hospital was completed in 1925 and was named McCormick Hospital. Prince Mahidol of Songkla "Mor Chao Fa" presided over the opening of the new hospital on 13 January 1925.
