Geocache Description:

HUYTON TRAIL #8 - ANDERTON TERRACE

Huyton Trail will take you on a tour on the outskirts of Huyton, Roby and Netherley. The terrain varies a bit from paved streets at the start of the trail to off road footpaths towards the end. In these places it can be a bit nettley in the summer so long pants and sleeves then, and quite muddy after rain so wellies or boots are advisable in the winter. There is a selection of sizes of cache, some are large enough for trackables, others merely nanos.  The trail, if done as a whole is a circular walk of approx 5.5km.  Numbers 11-16 are on a linear path of approx 1.5km   -  Most of the rest can be done either as drive-bys or with just a short walk

Situated in The Roby Conservation area is the partially hidden Anderton Terrace, a good example of attractive terraced cottages of the industrial revolution era. Previously known as Stanley Terrace, the road is unadopted, meaning responsibility for their upkeep rests entirely with the residents. If you look along the road you will see sections of the road where the original cobbles have been exposed through wear and tear. The properties at the entrance of the Anderton Terrace were originally red brick built however, a number of these properties have been rendered possibly to cover up damage to the brick work or in an attempt to modernise. The bricks are handmade and this is reflected in the texture and varying tones of the brick in the remaining properties.

This is a magnetic nano cache
