Culminant à 2327 mètres, Punta Artica est le plus haut sommet de la chaîne de montagnes située entre les vallées du Golo et du Tavignano, sur le flanc sud du Niolu. Le sommet offre un magnifique panorama sur de nombreux sommets emblématiques de Corse, avec notamment Monte Cinto, Paglia Orba et Capu Tafonatu. Punta Artica peut être rejoint en 3 heures environ à partir de la maison forestière de Popaghja et en suivant l'itinéraire pour le lac de Nino. Une fois à Bocca a Stazzona, prendre à gauche et suivre la ligne de crête en passant sur les flancs de Capu a Curia.

With its 2327 metres, Punta Artica is the highest peak of the mountain range between the Golo and Tavignano valleys, on the southern border of the Niolu region. The summit offers great views of the most famous corsican mountains, such as Monte Cinto, Paglia Orba and Capu Tafonatu. Punta Artica can be reached in about 3 hours from Popaghja forest house, following the path that goes to the Nino lake. Once you reach Bocca a Stazzone (the pass just before the lake), go left and follow the ridge to Capu a Curia and then Punta Artica.
