Join us on Saturday morning, November 2nd, for the 12th Chrysler Treasures Meet & Greet, followed by a tour of the Chrysler Museum's most recent glass exhibit led by Episcodad. Gather in the museum’s Huber Court at 11 am for the Meet and Greet with the tour beginning at 11:10 am. The Museum is located at One Memorial Place, Norfolk, Virginia. Parking and admission to the museum is free.
"Agony and Ecstasy" displays 14 exquisite stained glass works by Judith Schaechter. They probe the extremes of human experience and the intersection of the body and mind. Much like a painter mixes pigments, Schaechter uses sandblasting, engraving, and layering of colored glass sheets to create depth, texture, and subtle variation in her color palette. The glass is assembled using traditional copper foil and soldering techniques and then illuminated in a lightbox.
Following a viewing the stained glass works, Episcodad will continue the tour by looking at other works at the Chrysler's extensive glass galleries. Some of Schlecter's pieces are displayed below.
