!!!UPDATE 11/10!!!
Hi guys,
I am extremely disappointed to pass along this message I have just received from our host....
Morning Rory,
We have decided to cancel tomorrow's Work Morning, due to adverse ground conditions and the threat of more persistent rain.
Regards
Rick
This means the planned work is cancelled. The event afterwards is still going ahead. I am reluctant to completely cancel the CITO however, so I'm planning to turn up at 1030 armed with some bin bags to see if there is any litter in the area that needs picking up before the event. You're welcome to join me for this (I will be at the posted coordinates at 1030) - but please bear in mind it's likely to be slippery and pouring with rain, and I can only provide bags!
Sorry again, and hope to see anyone who's still up for the event!
Rory
Respect Your Alders
0930-1100
Saturday 12th October 2019
We’ve been invited back by the Friends of Hatch Grange to assist with removing some shrubs and saplings from an area in the park.
This is an organisation that has hosted us before and we have always had good fun working with.
There will be the usual opportunities to exchange trackables and as this event is happening during the CITO season 2, there's also a chance to get a souvenir by attending, if you don't have it already.
At 0930hrs we will meet at the published coordinates. We'll then be given instructions and a Health & Safety brief by Rick and Steve from the Friends of Hatch Grange before the exercise begins. We'll then work through to about 1100.
Our hosts will provide all equipment required, though you may want to bring your own gloves if you prefer.
Please also consider wearing appropriate clothing and sensible footwear. The event will proceed in any weather unless there are high winds or storms. There will be appropriate tasks for almost any ability level.
There is parking available at the posted coordinates and also on local streets. There is a supermarket very close to the posted coordinates but if using parking there, please pay very close attention to the time limits there!
After the CITO you're very welcome to join us in the Hatch Cafe (also at posted coordinates) for some post-CITO ruminations. Coffee and bacon rolls are promised! Please see linked event.
Important - Please indicate your ‘will attend’ so we have an idea of numbers.
All health and safety rules apply. Children will need supervision and pets kept under control.
Any more questions, please get in touch!
Thanks for reading this, and hope to see you there!
