Attend a screening of the 2019 finalists in the Geocaching International Film Festival!
Where: BP Energy Center, 900 E. Benson Blvd.
When: November 14, 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM (Thursday)
Finding new favorite places, people, and puzzles... geocaching is full of moments that should be captured on film and shared with the geocaching world. This year filmmakers were asked to focus on a great story about the game we love, or to zero in on a particular aspect of our game that deserves a bit more 'big-screen' attention. There's lots of humor, sometimes very serious topics, a wee bit of hilariously-scary stuff, and always great cinematography (that's geocaching eye-candy, in case you were wondering). All at no cost to you - really! Well-behaved adults and children are welcome, as always - as long as they're quiet during the screening! Subtitles in English will be presented for the hard of hearing (meaning, about half the expected audience!)
Post your will-attend early - so you stay on top of late-breaking news about what's happening at the Geocaching International Film Festival screening coming to a corner of Anchorage (somewhat) near you! Mark your calendars, and don't be late. Film screening is to begin promptly at 6:45 pm...
Also, please bring your favorite nonalcoholic beverage and a dessert to share with your fellow cachers. GeocacheAlaska! is planning to provide locally-sourced popcorn... but we're counting on you to tickle our sweet tooth!
Note: GeocacheAlaska! Board of Directors Meeting runs prior to the event from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.
Second Note (the fine print...) (it's a gnome thing...): This year's official color is Pantone (#F06400). Add variety to the spice of the show by wearing your favorite version of Pantone (#F06400) as an accessory or as a primary garment! And let's see if there's anyone (harrumph... dr-ak, perhaps? Or, maybe that tomanoble fellow!) who'll show up sporting a beard normally only found on a GIFF Gnome! Who knows? There might be prizes in these categories!!!
