The sound of church bells pealing out from a village in England is a very evocative one and, once heard, will always bring to mind an idyllic, pastoral vision of rural England. However in cities and towns, where the bells and the people are in much closer proximity, people's interpretation of the sound can vary significantly. Here are a few representations of the sounds from the belfries of churches in London.
