This is the bonus cache for the Adventure Lab Cache "Historical Walk in Norrtälje City"
The public coordinates for this cache is at Pythagoras Industrial Museum (this bonus cache is NOT there!), which is the suggested first location for the Adventure lab cache. The locations in the adventure can be visited in any order, however, it's a good idea to end with E, since this bonus cache is close to that location. A brief summary of Norrtälje's history: Tälje was first mentioned in writing in 1296 as Tälje village. In 1409 the town was named Norr Tälje. In 1622 Gustav ll founded Adolf Norrtälje. Large parts of the city were burned by the Russians in 1719. In the 1730s, the Wallin houses (Wallinska gårdarna) were built at the small square (Lilla Torget) and the Town Hall (Rådhuset) on the main square (Stora Torget). In the mid-1800s, Norrtälje was one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Baltic Sea, known for its beneficial mud. Societetsparken (Norrtäljes biggest park) reminds us of that era. The bathers arrived by steamboat or train from Stockholm for a few weeks of recreation in the archipelago. Societetsparken was built during that time to meet the needs of the bathers for relaxation and entertainment. Therefore, a pavilion was built in the middle of the park for entertainment and socializing. Even today, the park is used for recreation, various activities, and events such as the Custom Bike Show, American Car Show and Norrtälje jazz days.
