This cache has been created because of a nice story developed.
We’ve been invited to a 60’s birthday anniversary in May 2019 by Harry who is the uncle of my wife. The function took place in Zernien.
We celebrated in a proper way like we always do in any village in Lower Saxony.

At this occasion we met good friends of the host, Renate and Wolfgang.
We were very astonished to learn that both were not living in any of the neighbouring villages but in South Africa!
After successfully searching together for a few cans we had the idea: one can from Lower Saxony must go with them to Somerset West.
Harry, spouse Monika, Wolfgang and spouse Renate knew each other for 38 years and I think it’s worth a can just because of the distance.
By the way: according to the route map it’s only 13,846 Kilometre to Somerset West and one would be able to get there in 180 hours………..
Permission for the placement of the cache was granted by the property owner, who helped with the selection of the location where the container has been placed, and is happy to allow seekers to search for the container at the listed coordinates.

Dieser Cache ist durch eine schöne Geschichte entstanden.
Im Mai 2019 wurden wir zu Harry‘s 60. Geburtstag nach Zernien eingeladen. Harry ist der Onkel meiner Frau

Auf dieser Feier haben wir sehr gute Freunde des Feiernden, Renate und Wolfgang kennengelernt.. Zu unserer Verwunderung kamen die beiden leider nicht aus dem Nachbardorf, sondern aus Südafrika !?)
Nachdem wir gemeinsam im Dorf Zernien ein paar Dosen gesucht und gefunden haben, kam die Idee: Eine Dose aus Niedersachsen muss mit nach Somerset West.
Harry, Frau Monika, Wolfgang und Frau Renate kennen sich seit 38 Jahren und ich finde es ist gerade wegen der Entfernung eine Dose wert.
Übrigens: Laut Routenplaner sind es nur 13.846 Kilometer und in 180 Stunden könnte man es schaffen…
