This is a little multi-cache that should not be all that difficult. There are 8 stages including the Final Cache. These Historic Marker signs you will be visiting are not that far from each other. Due to the final being in a cemetery there is no night caching in the cemetery for the final. Have fun.
Steubenville, Ohio
Steubenville received its current name in 1795. There is a fort downtown that was used to house travelers, which for the most part consisted of travelers that were heading to the West. The Fort was made and finished in 1786. The Fort received its name from a fellow named Baron von Steuben.
Steubenville in its early days was mainly a port town. Then came the steel mill rolling plants. Now, with the mills operating, this brought a lot of growth for the city. The mill was up and operating in 1856. The group that made this all possible was a company named Frazier, Kilgore Company.
There are two colleges in Steubenville. Those being Franciscan University and Eastern Gateway Community College. The Franciscan University was founded in 1946 by Franciscan Frials. This university has brought with it loads of business for the city. The other school of higher education is presently named Eastern Gateway Community College. I state this due to the fact the college has changed its name more than a couple of times.
Steubenville at first was known for the steel mills. Next, the city was known for its wide array of mural paintings on the sides of some buildings downtown. Then, it was the nutcracker village that brought thousands of visitors to the city the past few years.
