In the spring of 2018, the town held a golden trout contest during the annual trout stocking in late March. They stock 12 golden trout and if you can catch one you get free pizza! Me being a fisherman I was so excited to hear such news! I was out opening day at 8 am in hopes to catch one. They would taunt me and a lot of other fisherman as they would follow our baits or bite our baits and spit the hook. I never ended up catching one but I did see them may times when the taunted me by not biting. Six of them ending up being caught and the other six...well it’s most likely they didn’t live considering trout are very sensitive and do not do well in warm water temperatures and they need a lot of oxygen so in a still lake with no moving water to create oxygen and the warm waters in the summer there is a very low chance of them actually making it.
