Cerkev sv. Jurija se nahaja na manjšem hribu, severno od Bistrice pri Tržiču in severovzhodno od vile Bistrica. Najverjetneje je nastala na začetku 16. stoletja. Na tem mestu je bila pred tem lesena lopa, ki pa je bila kasneje pozidana. Zvonik ima na severu, kapelo Matere Božje in zakristijo pa na jugu. Cerkev je enoladijska in je gotska, videti pa je tudi nekaj vplivov baroka. Ladja je dolga 6 m, široka 5,30 m in visoka 4 m. Ima raven strop motivi krogovičevja v zeleni, rdeči, oker in modri barvi. Prezbiterij je od ladje ločen s šiljastim gotskim slavolokom. Glavni oltar je posvečen sv. Juriju in sv. Florjanu, ima pa še dva stranska, prvi je posvečen sv. Urbanu in sv. Nikolaju, drugi pa sv. Marjeti. V grobkih so relikvije svetih mučencev Donata, Blaža, Pavlina in Afre. Na bližnjem gradu Gutenberg, h kateremu je cerkev pripadala, se je rodil prvi ljubljanski škof Žiga grof Lamberg.

Parkirati je možno le nekaj metrov stran od zaklada, pod cerkvico - gre za položen, kratek vzpon po makadamski cesti (N 46° 21.590' E 014° 17.300'), ali pa, če želite nabrati malce več korakov (N 46° 21.640' E 014° 17.308').

Church of St.George is located on a small hill north of Bistrica pri Tržiču. Most likely it was built in 16 century. In this place there was firstly wooden shed which was later rebuilt in stone church. Bell tower is facing north, chapel of the Mother of God and Sacristy is on the south part of it. Church is built in gothic style with little influence of baroque.
It has one nave 6metres in length,5,3metres wide and 4metres high. Ceiling is flat with tracery in green, red, ocher and blue color. Main altar is dedicated to the St.George and St.Florian, one of the side altars is dedicated to St.Urbain and St.Nicholas and other to the St.Margaret. There are also relics of 4 st.martyrs in graves.
Church was part of the nearby castle Guthenberg. First bishop of Ljubljana Žiga Lamberg was born in the castle.

Parking is possible under the church it is short and flat ascent on tarmac road (N 46° 21.590' E 014° 17.300') or if you want to hike little more steps (N 46° 21.640' E 014° 17.308').
