Geocache Description:

For everyone who has ever visited Crater Lake, or maybe hasn't gotten the opportunity, here is your chance to see a miniature version.

Truly a jewel in the forest, this little pond measures approximately 60' wide and 45' deep, and looks refreshing enough to take a dip in. It is fed from an artesian spring deep within the earth. You wouldn't want to try it, however, as the water is a very cool 34 degrees. The crystal blue waters reveal timber that has long ago fallen into the depths, and they seem to bend into arches with the refraction. We were driving around the area and noticed the sign, and illDRIVEuNav exclaimed "Let's GO THERE!" He had seen it in a textbook as a child, and had begged his parents to take him to see it, but alas it never happened. So now, all these years later he got to see this treasure, and we felt it worthy enough to commemorate with a cache. We hope you will visit the area and walk the trails. There is a campground nearby, and the Pacific Crest Trail is accessible (though not on horseback) from the Lake trail. Nearby Timothy Lake is also worth a visit. Though the cache is off of the trail, please be discreet and hide it back carefully. A camo painted tupperware container with lots of goodies inside.
