The worlds largest series, Church Micros, are celebrating 12 years since Sadexploration placed the first cache! There are quite a few CM's around Upton Upon Severn and in the local area, so why not come along to find some as well as attending an event, this event will add to your CM stats as a find.
The Upton Pepperpot, or Bell Tower to give it its proper name is all that remains of the old parish church of St Peter and St Paul. The Tower is thought to be fourteenth century, although its base is thirteenth century and it is possible that an even earlier wooden structure of Saxon foundation once stood on the site. On 29 August 1651, considerable damage was done to the church when it was held by Commonwealth troops against the Royalists during the Battle of Upton and deteriorated thereafter until 1754 that it was decided to erect a new nave. This nave was eventually dismantled in 1937 leaving what we see today.
