Northfield Woods Night Cache Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

austin2009: I am having to archive this cache so I can make it a traditional cache as the reflective markers keep going missing. I have replaced them 3 times now and they still keep disappearing. Such a shame as most people were enjoying it.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Northfield woods night cache.

PLEASE NOTE THIS CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE IT IS DARK

For this adventure you will need a BRIGHT torch.
(Brighter is better - a mobile phone torch is unlikely to be sufficient)

Once you arrive at the starting coordinates you will need to use your gps and head to the trailhead marked and locate a reflective marker using your torch.

Once located walk over to this marker and then shine your torch around to find the next reflective marker and head that direction.

You will be following these markers throughout your journey until you reach GZ which will be indicated by 2 reflective markers. There may be times you don't see a marker but keep following the path you are on until you see a marker (you will be using well worn paths and do not need to leave these until you actually see the two markers for GZ). If you come to a junction just shine your torch around to find the direction you need to head in.

The cache is a small clip lock box with a few swapables and a small prize for the FTF.

To exit the woods please set your gps to the starting waypoint and use the paths provided (you won't go back the way you came, but need to continue on the current path).

The paths can become extremely muddy after lots of rain so please come prepared with wellies and be aware of stumps and roots along the way.

We suggest you allow up to one hour to complete this.

Good luck and we hope you enjoy our night cache.

A big thank you to the Woodland Trust who have given us permission to place this cache.
