Gjáin Traditional Cache

Gjáin in Djórsárdalur Valley is a beautiful enclave in the middle of a harsh lava landscape. Surrounded by basalt forms and cut by the Raudá river (Red River), it is the natural residence of elves, trolls and dwarves. The mouth of the valley is guarded by a troll looking at the cave on the left bank of the river, from which his kids jump straight into the water.
The view and atmosphere of this place is certainly worth overcoming an uncomfortable gravel road, and for Game of Thrones fans I will add information that the Water Dance scene with Arya and the Hound was recorded here.
