Geocache Description:

Carlisle Nothern Development Route The Carlisle North Bypass was opened 14th February 2012. A 5.13 mile route from Wigton Road to Junction 44 of the M6. The road passes over the River Eden near Stainton and the West Coast Main Line at Kingmoor. The route suffered several setbacks which included a discovery of a great crested next colony in 2008 and a potentially important Stone Age find during surveying work in 2009.

This short series of caches run close to home. When planning where to lay my small series I realised that there are not many close to home. The series follows the start of the bypass and follows a popular cycle and walking path. The series is made up various different containers which were a secret santa present from the person that got me involved in geocaching. (Jigglybones). I have a lot to thank him for, by introducing me to geocaching I have got out to places that I never knew existed and made lots of long lasting memories. I hope that many others will enjoy this walk out with friends or family.

Follow the footpath along the bypass from #1.
