This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches and support buildings that have been repurposed.

Hindmarsh Congregational church
Foundation stone 13 Apr 1882 by Alexander Hay, architect James Cummings, Dry Creek stone with white & red bricks and cement dressings, opened 3 Dec 1882, Sunday school 1903, closed 11 Nov 1984.
First chapel 1838 made of mud & reeds was across Orsmond St from the later church. Second chapel opened May 1849 on corner Mary & Orsmond St, gallery 1860, schoolroom 1863, renovated 1874, demolished.
“The first building used for worship was a mud one, built within 500 yards of the present church, on the site of the old Kangaroo Brewery, and called ‘The Hindmarsh Mud Chapel’."
“The church has been closed for repairs during a number of weeks, but services have been carried on in the adjoining schoolroom. . . They put on a new roof, which had been much needed, as rain used to come in and stain the walls. These had now been coloured, and new sittings had been supplied.”
“The first thing they did was to obtain a suitable site, and they had been fortunate enough to obtain a vacant piece of land adjacent to their present church. . . The committee, in erecting the building, had not sought self-glorification, but had studied economy and simplicity in the design, and had done it for the good of the neighbourhood and for the love of God.”
“The church is designed in plain and simple Gothic, with walls of Dry Creek stone and dressings in cement. A little colored brick is introduced in places, which gives a light and cheerful effect to the structure. In front is a spacious porch, from one end of which rises the stair to the gallery, and in the inner wall of which are two doorways entering the auditorium. . . The church, as designed and carried out, presents a finished appearance in every respect; but it has been so arranged that at any future time a portion of the front porch may be carried np and terminated with a spire.”
