The Snaizeholme Red Squirrel Trail passes within a few yards of this cache, though the cache itself is just outside the woodland reserve. A bus runs from Hawes on request and will drop you off at the start of the trail and you can visit the red squirrel viewing area before finding this cache. Alternatively, this can be done as a drive-by if your vehicle has a bit of clearance. You don't need 4-wheel drive, but drive slowly once you leave the tarmac. There is a big turning area through the gate, near the caravan. If you value your suspension and exhaust pipe, don't drive any further down the steep rough track. The cache is in plain view, but the ground might be a bit wet, so don't wear sandals.
