Geocache Description:

This cache is not at the posted coordinates.  Instead it is located somewhere about 200' away from section 1 of the Long Path, very close to the Forest View Trail.  The Long Path goes quite a distance, over 350 miles, from 175th Street Subway Station in NYC to Albany and beyond.  Some reference points along the trail are included in the Additional Waypoints section.

Overview Map

The Path got its name from a phrase in the poem, Song of the Open Road, by Walt Whitman, section 1:

Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

Walkin' Ed's log includes some more details about the trail.  (Thank you!)

You can find the cache at:

North A° BC.DEF
West GH° IJ.KLM

See the Additional Waypoints section.

The road is before you... good luck, and enjoy!
